About This Destination
Gili Trawangan is the largest and most popular island in the Gili archipelago. Famous as a hub for diving, snorkeling, and nightlife, Gili Trawangan attracts a diverse range of travelers — from backpackers and couples to families. The island is motor-vehicle-free. The main modes of transport are bicycles and cidomo. You can cycle around the entire island in about 1–2 hours, enjoying ocean views and snorkeling spots scattered along the coastline. An iconic photo spot is the Gili Trawangan swing on the southwest side. Sunset on Gili Trawangan is among the best in Lombok — from the west side you can watch the sun set behind Mount Agung in Bali with orange and pink skies. At night, the main strip comes alive with bars, restaurants, and beach parties.
